We’re excited to announce the release of FOSSLight Hub 2.0.2! This version is the official 2.0 release, including the new UI from the pre-release and significant database (DB) updates.

Release FOSSLight CLI 1.0

FOSSLight CLI is released!

FOSSLight CLI 1.0 has been released. FOSSLight CLI allows you to use the features of the browser-based FOSSLight Hub directly from the terminal command prompt. With it, you can check open source licenses, view information about each open source, and identify security vulnerabilities, as well as automate the open source compliance process. For example, you can create automation tasks through YAML files, run scanners, and directly upload the results to your FOSSLight Hub project.

2024 Open Source Contribution Launching Ceremony

2024 FOSSLight begins activities at the Open Source Contribution Academy

On July 13, 2024, the Contribution Academy officially commenced its activities with an inaugural ceremony. This year’s academy has garnered significant attention with the participation of FOSSLight Scanner, an open source software scanner. FOSSLight Scanner is a tool designed to analyze the licenses and security vulnerabilities of open source software, and it is set to showcase enhanced features and performance during the academy.

2023 Open Source Contribution Academy Award

FOSSLight won the Encouragement Award at the 2023 Open Source Contribution Academy.

FOSSLight project participated in 2023 Open Source Contribution Academy. The Open Source Contribution Academy is a contribution mentoring program where you can break down entry barriers to open source and experience the open source culture of participating, open, sharing, and collaborating with senior developers by supporting each other’s ‘contributors’. This is a program that has been running steadily for many years. Dabeen Jeong and Jongwoo Han, who were FOSSLight’s mentees last year, and maintainers Kyoungae Kim and Soim Kim served as mentors. As a result of the four mentors and many mentees actively participating and contributing regardless of location, online and offline, we were awarded the President of Korea IT Business Promotion Association. Congratulations to all mentors and mentees!!

LG Electronics received the Minister of Science and ICT Award

2023.12.01 LG Electronics contributed to the development of the open software industry through FOSSLight.

On December 1, 2023, LG Electronics was recognized for its contributions to the development of the domestic open source software (OSS) industry by receiving the Minister of Science and ICT Award at the ‘2023 Domestic Open Source Software Industry Development Contributors Award Ceremony.’ This award acknowledges LG Electronics’ active participation in the OSS community and the development and release of its own OSS management tools, FOSSLight Hub and FOSSLight Scanner.

iNews24 Social D·N·A Innovation Award

FOSSLight won the ‘Achievement Award’ at the 3rd iNews24 Social D·N·A Innovation Awards.

FOSSLight won the ‘Achievement Award’ at the 3rd iNews24 Social D·N·A Innovation Awards. ‘Social D·N·A Innovation Award’ marks the 20th anniversary of iNews24 in 2020, leading public and private innovation and social value realization based on D (Data), N (Network), and A (AI). This award was newly established to discover and disseminate best practices. FOSSLight has been recognized and awarded as an open source software(SW) management tool that the software industry is paying attention to. Kyoungae Kim, leader of Open Source task at LG Electronics said, “FOSSLight is a tool that contains various difficulties and know-how experienced while working in open source compliance for over 10 years. I feel proud that the results of these efforts are very helpful for the open source compliance and management of many companies.”.
